Extra! Extra!

The past three months have been a whirlwind, to say the least. Not only has there been lots of wedding planning, but we decided to throw a few more things in the mix.

First up, my fiance Rob got a new job.....

And that job happens to be in Washington D.C. which means we have a move on the horizon....

And if this were not enough, we are buying our FIRST HOME!!!

*This is not our house but it is a home I've saved since I first layed eyes on it. I cannot wait to walk through our own door, but that gate and front door is so welcoming, isn't it?

If I could have a baby in the next month and retire I will officially complete every major life event in a three month span! I have been a big emotional mess the past few months since Rob is already in D.C. with work. There have been many tears and many checklists but things are FINALLY coming together. This wedding is finally on the horizon and I cannot wait to be married and feel settled in our new home. Get ready because soon there will be new house projects and MUCH more time for me to blog.

I want to thank all the bloggers out there that have stuck around. Your comments have cheered me during the difficult days and I will be back to regular blogging soon!

Oh, Emily, what exciting news! I totally understand the stress that you must be under. When I moved from Boston to Virginia, I was a wreck...and I didn't have a wedding on the horizon.

Please, please let me know if you want to talk about neighborhoods (at least in Virginia). Though I live in Charlottesville, I cover Northern Virginia (Loudoun, Fairfax, and Arlington Counties) for work and know the area very well.

Virginia is wonderful, by the way. There are loads of Bostonians down here, too. :)

Exciting! DC is great - you'll love it :) I was in a similar situation this year... I had my first baby in February, then we moved from IDAHO to MARYLAND in June... heh. That was fun :-p

I'm right there with you, but being on the other side of the craziness, I can tell you that for us it was definitely worth it, so I hope it is for you as well. Wishing you the best (and looking forward to more blogging)!

How thrilling! Can't wait for photos of all the major events! As crazy and stressful as it may be, just revel in it! There will never be a first wedding (!) or first home again---you are right where you are supposed to be! If anyone can handle it, you sure can! and with style and grace...
Wishing you the best!

OMG! So exciting! We closed on our house three weeks after getting married, so I can imagine the craziness - but moving to another part of the country has to be insane! We HAVE to get together before you move. Are you still working in the four point channel area? Want to meet up at Flour sometime?

Good luck getting everything done that you need to get done! And I can't wait to see the photos of your new place. Congrats!!

Congrats!! Let me know if you need tips on neighborhoods - in my 7 years there, I lived in Falls Church, a few places in Arlington, and then we ended up buying a townhouse in Vienna. I'd be glad to offer input! DC is a fun place to live - definitely better winters than Boston!

Congrats! Wow that really is a lot! I KIND OF can relate, we too just bought our house and moved in about a month ago...lots of packing, unpacking, cleaning...and all in between both of us travelling for work. Things are slowing down a bit...and it's sooo nice to be in a HOUSE! So cozy, just us. It's huge..and I know it's a lot right now, especially for you but like you said I know when you finally get over there and you're together you'll feel how it was all worth it. Stay strong and positive and good luck! xo

Congrats on the wedding!! I know moving is stressful, but there are a lot of bloggers in VA here to welcome you! I've got an amazing real estate agent if you want a good recommendation and would love to help you if you're interested. All the best! *Amy
